We are an established team with players ranging in ages and abilities and we encourage and welcome anyone to come and join us! Having set up our team with players from an old club, we have many years of experience between us and have played throughout the Midlands for over 15 years.
We play all year round in several different formats during the summer and in the Notts Indoor League during the Winter. We provide Women’s cricket to those aged 14+ of all abilities from beginners to experienced players.
In our current squad we have a mix of players who are current and ex-county players as well as seasoned club cricketers, development players and beginners and we welcome any women aged 14+ to come along and join us!
In the summer we enter the East Midlands Women’s Cricket League which provides 40 over competitive cricket and the Super 8s competition. The Super 8s provides 8 a-side pairs games which is a great way for everyone to get involved.
Our summer outdoor training is held on Thursday evenings at the Caythorpe Cricket Ground from 6-8pm. Four of the current Women’s squad all hold ECB coaching qualifications. We also have two ECB ACO level 1 scorers, a level 3 umpire and a level 2 umpire within our ranks! There is always the opportunity to develop off field skills within the club if you have an interest in them.
We also have Women’s Softball cricket at Caythorpe which was set up in 2022, which continues to grow under the coaching of Nicki Barnes. The team have entered the Notts indoor league over winter and in the Summer we will be playing the EMWCL Softball League as well as touring the county for other softball festival days.
Please get in contact with us if you would like to play or volunteer for the Women’s teams in any format, or if you know anyone who might like to! We’d love to welcome as many women as possible to play alongside us and build a strong women’s section here at Caythorpe. You don’t need previous experience and we accept players of all ages and abilities. Girls can come along and join our club from the age of 6 years old and they work their way up through the junior set-up to eventually join the Women’s team.
