Caythorpe Cricket Club, re-established in 1882, are based in East Nottinghamshire. We boast excellent facilities with currently two home pitches, a club house with bar and kitchen with a separate changing facility with 4 team changing rooms and two officials changing rooms, all fully equipped with showers and toilets. We are easy to access by car, bus or train (Lowdham Train Station).
The club currently runs five Saturday League XIs in the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League, 2 Women’s Hardball and Softball Sunday teams in the East Midlands Women’s Cricket League and a Sunday development team alongside all of our junior teams from U19s all the way down to U9s, including girls and kwik cricket.
For 2025 our 1st XI are playing in the Nottinghamshire Premier League Division 2, the 2nd XI are in Division B of the South Nottinghamshire Cricket League, with the 3rd XI in Division F, the 4th XI in Division K and the 5th team in Division N. With our teams spread well throughout the South Notts league there is plenty of chances for development through the teams. Our Development XI play in the South Notts Development Division, which has a strong focus on bringing through juniors into senior cricket.
Our Women’s teams, set up in 2020 will be playing in the East Midlands Women’s Cricket League. We have Women’s Super 8s who play in Division 1 and the Softball team playing in Division 1 Central. Our Women’s Development team arranges friendly fixtures throughout the season with a focus on bringing through juniors to Women’s cricket and introducing Women new to cricket to the game.
Majority of home fixtures are played at hour home ground on Caythorpe Road, Caythorpe with our 5th XI set to play at Woodborough from 2022.
We have an extremely successfully Junior set up with teams at U19, U15, U14, U13, U12, U11, U10, U9, Girls and Kwik Cricket. We also run All Stars Cricket on a Friday evening alongside Junior training. Friday Night Junior training enables children to learn their cricket skills in a supportive and safe environment run by many qualified coaches. Junior fixtures are played on weeknights or Sunday mornings.
The club has a large number of qualified coaches who are all DBS checked and work with all sections of the club. For 2022 we also have Mark Footitt as our club coach who will be used across all sections alongside our Pakistan overseas pro Mehran Ibrahim.
The Club is ECB Clubmark accredited which is an acknowledgment that we strive to provide a high quality and welcoming environment for young participants in cricket.
Junior training night is on Friday evenings from April to July and as well as giving the youngsters the chance to hone their cricketing skills it has also become a great social scene where parents can mix, chat and have a relaxing drink while watching their children have a great time.
New players of all ages, genders and abilities are always welcome at Caythorpe.
